Amazing Northern CT Engagement Session

I had such a blast photographing Katie and Luke’s Engagement Session a few weeks ago. This was such an outstanding Northern CT Engagement Session. Katie and Luke cooked up a fabulous brunch for their Love Story Engagement Session. You can just tell from looking at their images that they are so in love with each other. I fell in love with them when I first met them at our studio. Here are some delicious images I took of them cooking and showing off their beautiful personalities. Everything about their session was perfect. A perfect day with a perfect couple.

Chasing Rainbows and Finally Capturing One

A few years ago there was a giant double rainbow in Hadley, MA. Unfortunately I did not have my camera on me and missed the opportunity to capture it. About two years ago a rainbow appeared while I was in the car on the way to the mall. This is all I could capture of it. I was not driving.

A year ago my mom and dad went to Hadley and there was another beautiful rainbow that she captured.

Even a few months back there was one that I chased but could not capture it in full. My sister took this picture of it.

My friend Nickole even captured one and sent me this picture.

So, I have felt like I have always been chasing rainbows in hopes to capture a full one on camera, that is, until a few days ago:) My buddy Bill had asked me if I wanted to go see Jurassic Park 3D. I was currently working on the Back to the Future Scene Recreation in Photoshop but needed a break. I told him to pick me up at 6:30 as the movie started at 7:30 in Hadley, MA. I came outside and noticed the sun was out but it was raining. I said to Bill, maybe we’ll see a rainbow. Not five minutes into the drive I look to my right and notice a full blown rainbow. I tell him to take a right at the lights and I’m back to chasing rainbows. We stopped at Mosier School in South Hadley, MA so I could capture this amazing image of this unbelievable rainbow.

Then captured the same rainbow at Mount Holyoke College.

After all these years of being a photographer, I have finally captured my first full rainbow.

I will still be chasing rainbows but now it’s to add to the one I finally captured.

Back to the Future Scene Recreated in Photoshop

This weekend I had the great pleasure of hanging out and photographing one of the best couples to ever be photographed by Jayson’s Photography. Now, when I met with Katie and Luke a few weeks ago to discuss their wedding, I showed them our Back to the Future Hallway in our studio, and they absolutely fell in love with it. After Luke had put on the Marty McFly vest or “Life Preserver”, they both showed an interest in doing a Back to the Future themed engagement session. This idea did not go through but that’s alright. I had a blast photographing this wonderful couple on their brunch themed engagement shoot. Now, I’m an artist first and a photographer second. So the artist in me wanted to create something magical for this special couple. Something that had to do with Back to the Future, even though Katie’s favorite movie is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I know that they are both huge fans of Steven Spielberg and the Back to the Future trilogy. That is why during their engagement session I asked Luke to lift up Katie so I could snap this photo.

Back to the Future

I had previously watched Back to the Future III and knew exactly which scene I was going to Photoshop them into.

Yesterday, I got to work on Katie and Luke’s Back to the Future Photoshop creation and 8 hours later I had created this.

As you can see everything was added later in Photoshop. I took a picture of my television during this train scene in Back to the Future III. I took a picture of my Hoverboard at the correct angle so I could place Luke on it. I even had to duplicate Luke’s right leg to create his left leg so he could stand on the Hoverboard more easily. I added all the smoke you see, even the heart smoke to bring even more love into this image. The colorful train smoke was added in and appears in the correct order it showed up in the movie. All and all this was a fun art piece I enjoyed creating for this wonderful couple. I will be posting more this week from this amazing engagement session with Katie and Luke.

If you’re looking for a photographer who’s also an artist and knows how to use Photoshop correctly, be sure to give me a call or send me a text at 413 537 9553. Facebook and e-mail also works. I Look forward to hearing from you.
