Amherst Wedding Photography by Jayson’s Photography

I absolutely love photographing weddings in the Amherst, MA area. There is a nice selection of wedding ceremony and reception venues in Amherst, MA to get married at, including The Red Barn on Hampshire College, The Amherst Woman’s Club, Johnson Chapel on Amherst College and The Lord Jeffery Inn. We’ve recently added a ceremony and reception venues button to our website so you can view 10 fantastic wedding locations we’ve photographed at.

When planning your wedding, the ceremony and reception venue is usually selected first, so we thought we would give you our insight on the best places to host your wedding in the Amherst Mass area.

The Amherst Woman’s club is pretty secluded and makes for a beautiful location to get married. You can have your wedding ceremony outside on their magnificent lawn or inside the gorgeous house on a wonderful dance floor that can hold around 70 people. You can have dancing inside and set up a tent outside for your ceremony and cocktail hour. The cost is very cheap considering what they give you. You only have to pay a few hundred bucks and the house is yours for the night.

Johnson Chapel is breathtaking. The lighting inside this church is absolutely perfect. Check out images I photographed inside by clicking here. The only way you can have your wedding here is if you or someone in your family is an alumni of Amherst College, but they might have changed that rule. If you can have your wedding ceremony here, I’d love to photograph it.

The Red Barn is a nice alternative to Johnson Chapel. A lot of couples choose The Red Barn because they have a huge field with a big beautiful tree where couples get married. Before starting a family, this tree is very symbolic to the couples and it’s one of the reasons why they select The Red Barn for their wedding ceremony. Inside The Red Barn is pretty amazing as well. You can decorate it how you like and host your wedding reception there, there is a nice deck off the side of the barn that is covered over with a tent. Of course the field is right next to the deck so if you have a huge guest list, this would be the place to host your amherst mass wedding. The field and the tree make this the perfect place to capture outstanding wedding moments.

The Lord Jeffery Inn is very elegant and makes for a wonderful backdrop to your wedding. Your wedding guests can stay overnight after your fantastic wedding reception downstairs. The Inn can hold up to 180 guests. You will feel like you are going to the royal ball if you have your wedding reception here. Their grounds make for some outstanding wedding photos as well as the elegant beauty on the inside.

For your Amherst Mass Wedding Photography, all of these places are very picturesque. I love photographing at each one of them because each place is unique in their own way. Be sure to check out other amazing ceremony and reception venues we’ve photographed at by clicking here.

We are here to make sure your amherst mass wedding is absolutely perfect. Contact Jayson at to book your Amherst Mass Wedding Photography.

The Best Golf Course in Western Mass | Westover

If you haven’t played Westover Golf Course in Western Massachusetts, what are you waiting for? Westover is a beautiful course located in Granby, MA. It features 18 challenging holes that are a lot of fun to play. Each hole is unique in it’s own way. My favorite one to play is hole number 10 which is their signature hole and is a Par 3 over water.

Not only is Westover the best course to play in Western Mass but the price is very reasonable. It’s only $23 to play 18 holes during the week and $26 for the weekend. They usually have a deal that includes golf for 18 holes, a golf cart and lunch for around $35.

Speaking of lunch, Westover Golf Course has the best cheeseburgers around. This is usually what I eat before I hit the back 9. The course is a long course but you can walk it. They have a fabulous putting green in front of their club house and a driving range for practicing your swing. I love their driving range because you can actually hit off grass and not mats like other ranges in the area. If you are from the Western Mass area or just visiting, be sure to hit the links at Westover Golf Course. You can book a tee time on their website by clicking here. Make sure you say hi to professional golf pro Bill Kubinski while you’re there and tell him Jay sent you. He is a great guy and offers lessons if you need help with your golf game. If you are looking to play one of the best Western Mass golf courses around, make sure to give Westover Golf Course a call.

11 ways to Survive Winter Storm Nemo

With Winter Storm Nemo quickly approaching us today in New England, every school and business is closed, or should be closed if they aren’t already. This storm is to bring between 18 to 24 inches of snow. I guess the groundhog was wrong, again. The storm is expected to start any minute now and swim right into Saturday and generate wind speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. This is definitely going to be a blizzard and takes on the name of a fish. With all the trouble they went through to find Nemo in the movie, let’s hope this storm really takes place, with all the trouble we went through to gas up our cars and stock up on food and water. Last years Octobers blizzard caused major power outages and canceled school for a week. Winter Storm Nemo is going to be a massive nor’easter and could drop 36 inches in some areas. Here are some things that you should find and buy to survive Winter Storm Nemo.

Food and Canned Food
Manual Can Opener
A Surviving Winter Storm Nemo Hoodie

Just Keep Shoveling, Just Keep Shoveling

You can purchase one of these Surviving Nemo 2013 hoodies from the following site for only $35. That includes shipping and handling.

I hope you all stay safe during Winter Storm Nemo. Maybe snuggle up by the fire and watch Finding Nemo.
